The public is invited to a “pop up” exhibition and sale of artwork sponsored by North Country Community Mental Health and partner organizations at Create Community Arts Studio in Boyne City (151 Ray St.) on Friday, July 28, from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 29, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There is no entrance fee to attend.
Consumer partner organizations helping to facilitate art submissions include Petoskey Club, Bergmann Center, Straits Area Services, Crossroads Industries and Challenge Mountain.
Julie Moran, one of the event organizers, encourages community members to attend and view the artwork of some very talented people. “This will be a great opportunity to see some amazing work and perhaps purchase a piece of local art. This pop up show provides the venue to highlight their talent. It’s empowering for the artists who participate,” Moran said. “We look forward to the community attending our first-ever show in Boyne City and appreciate the support of Create Community Arts Studio in bringing this to the community.”
Sara Manchester, founder of Create: Community Arts Studio, said, “We are thrilled to support the talented artists and dedicated organizations that have come together for this show. Our studio believes art is important and art is for everyone and we are pleased to be a part of Art Speaks.”
Art Speaks’ goal is to continue the trend in Northern Michigan of making resources, space and classes available to people that otherwise might not have the opportunity to show and enhance their talent.
